WOW. that's scary!
It could be a number of things. pre-eclampsia, her blood pressure may have shot up. In any event, it's very serious. I just pray they can get the baby safely and that she is okay!

I think pre-clampsia...it can be a warning sign of it.

Losing vision is a sign of ECLAMPSIA....not Pre-Eclampsia......Basically her Blood Pressure is dangerously high and the extra blood can put pressure on teh optic nerve causing the blindness, eclapmsia is dangerous because it can cause seizures and a stroke......The only way to fix ecalampsia is delivering the baby....that is why they are doing that....

 I actually had pre eclampsia never eclampsia but I lost my vision a few times when my BP got very high. It is very scary

No toxemia is pre-eclampsia. Eclampsia is an extreme version of it.

I'm waiting to hear if they are going to deliver the baby. I everything is going to be ok. This is their first baby. They had a very hard time getting pregnant.
She never had high BP or protein in her urine before this?

I remember the CMA awards a couple of years ago and Brad Paisley's wife was 8+ months preggo and she couldn't read the teleprompter! She squinted at it awhile and then said "Great! I'm knocked up AND blind!"
I don't know if that helps but that's my one experience with blind preggos
