Tested Positive for Strep B
I know its a common thing, just kinda bummed about it. Im already about 45 minutes away from the hopital..so now Im gonna be rushing even more to get there as quick as possible

I am unsure of what you are saying. you are going to the hospital now bc you tested for strep b or when u deliver u are tying to get there early bc you have strep b? I tested positive for strep b. they said 1/3 girls have it but all that needs to happen is during labor you get put on antibiotics.

yes, I was told the very same thing that Paulette posted. I also tested positive for Step B My doctor never made any issue of me getting to the hospital earlier or what have you...she said this was so common and that I'll just need antibiotics administered when I go into labor and am admitted to the hospital

Its an issue if your water breaks, you would need to go to the hospital to be put on antibiotics -- women who aren't positive for Strep B can linger at home a bit longer if their contractions aren't close together.

I agree with what Calla said I had tested positive for strep B too and although I ended up being induced I was told to get there before my waters broke.

I agree and it sounds logical but my dr honestly wasnt concerned about me rushing to the hospital before my water broke. I thought it was actually before the baby came out when it would cause a problem. The problem that strep b causes is pnemonia I assume if its swallowed by the baby...but I am unsure.

Gotcha! I was confused...I thought you were on your way to the hospital bc you found out you had strep B. I thought maybe somehow it could have a life threatening effect...haha
Honestly, I am so unsure about this whole strep B bc my dr is so laxed about it.
