TESE
Did anyone's DH undergo TESE? We are pretty close to starting IUI with donor sperm, but there's still this tiny piece of me that wants to be sure we are not impulsively passing by TESE. We've talked about it a bunch and are reluctant to do it especially given the high likelihood (for DH) that there will be nothing there. He is very reticent to go through the procedure (as am I) and I can imagine a procedure like this has to be pretty much the last thing a man would ever be happy about, but I know people do it. Our urologist gave a very oversimplified and not very informative description; the RE's description was a bit more graphic (and thus more informative), but I'm guessing that's not her specialty area since she's an RE and not a urologist. So, back to my question after all this rambling - has anyone's DH considered and/or followed through with TESE? Why/ why not? What was it like?
Thanks!!

Re: TESE
I do not have a ton of information, but we will be doing TESA. Hopefully my DH will have the sperm aspiration from the testicle. Our urologist made it sound like a simple procedure. He said there will be local anesthesia and we will transport the sperm for IVF that day. For us, as long as we can, we will be going through with this and using DH's sperm. I will have a ton more information in the next few weeks when we have actually have experienced the procedure.
Good luck with whatever you choose!

Re: TESE
I would definitely do TESE. What is the reason that he has no sperm? My friend did it and found sperm. Actually he did it three because they did two IVFs. Also, I know that there are different techniques that are used so that it is less painful. She is now 12 weeks pregnant!

Re: TESE
I know that I have read on other message boards that as long as they can find a few sperm (i.e., 6 sperm) they can still have their own children.
