God have mercy, I am reading some of these responses about what people do in terms of cleaning,(aka mopping floors every night!) and I realize.... I am a slob.
A born slob.
And I must just accept that fact.
Because I can't imagine EVER mopping floors or vaccumming every day.

When do you have time to do anything else? As in, relax? Chat Icon

I'm terrible at floors. I hate doing it. And any kind of deep cleaning, I'm just clueless about. I am going to try the trick with the stove though... thanks to whoever mentioned it. The older gas stoves are a real PITA to clean!

I hate floors too. My house is tidy. I vacuum daily BC with the kids making crumbs and the dog hair I can't stand it. But honestly I hate cleaning.

As for the stove, I fill the sink with warm water a little Mr clean and dish soap, put the pieces in there and let them soak for a bit. Then I use soft scrub on any stubborn spots, but my stove comes out pretty good when i am motivated to do it.

My issue is I would prefer to have 3-4 solid hours without the kids and just clean everything. But I rarely have 1 hour without the kids so....

Re: Terrible Housewife

i also suck at cleaning...thankfully its only DD that cares lol
i keep everything neat and tidy, but i HATE carpet. i have carpet up my stairs upstairs and i struggle lugging the vaccum up and down to clean them...they are wide stairs.
how the heck do you clean the carpet under the bed????? the vaccum is too big to fit and i cannot lift the mattress myself to clean it...its gross i will admit that.
my laundry does get behind...prob why DD has so many clothes...i never run out.
i have been doing much better as of late. minus the vaccuming...i hate vaccuming...i dream of hard wood/laminate wood through out my house.

I dont spend all day cleaning, not with 3 little boys, not possible. Yes I do mop my kitchen every night because my boys run around with their shoes on, they come in from the yard through the kitchen doors, I have a dog, things get spilled etc. I've been doing it so long its like 2nd nature, clear dishes from the table, load dishwasher, mop floor done. And my cleaning usually is done in the morning when my kids are either still asleep or watching a movie.

Re: Terrible Housewife

I'm a terrible housewife" I do what my DH likes to call "surface cleaning." I will vacuum, do dishes, straighten up, do laundry, but tats pretty much where it ends. I am not a deep cleaner. I'm not good at it, and I hate it! Not that I'm not good at it, I actually hate the physical act of cleaning.Chat Icon
And cooking, eh I'm ok. I'm off in the summer so I try to cook during the week. I have some go tos that are pretty good. But I also lie trying new things, and that's always hit or mss. When I to back to work, DH is lucky if I cook once a week. I get home from work after the kids have eaten dinner and are already in bed, so DH is on his own.
