Tension Headaches and Pregnancy
I have been getting horrific tension headaches for about the past 3-4 weeks. I saw my dr and was in the er and this is what they said it is. I was wondering if anyone has experienced this and what they have done to help alleviate the pain. I am 16 weeks and have 2 yo twins and home and cant afford to be out of commission.
TIA...

Re: Tension Headaches and Pregnancy
i feel for you! I got the worst tension headaches before getting my BFP and I actually woke up this morning at 5am (from a deep sleep) with a splitting headache.
Things that I have found to help:
- try not to clenche your jaw or grind teeth(i do this and it makes things much worse) - get enough sleep, which I am sure can be tough with 2 yo's - stay hydrated!!! - you can take tylenol! I actually broke down at work today and took 2 extra strength (ok'd by high risk ob), the first time I have taken anything since getting my BFP! - caffeine should help too!
feel better

Re: Tension Headaches and Pregnancy
I got them badly with my first pregancy, and not so much with this one (thank goodness!)
My OB said if they were really bad and tylenol wasn't working, I could take Excedrin Tension (in moderation) which is basically Tylenol with caffeine. It was the only thing that worked for me. Good luck!
