temping question
I've been using the Nexcare basal thermometer since my last period in February, and I haven't had a temperature spike yet. I have pcos and all of the wonderful ( ) symptoms that come with it. From doing some research on this site, I see there are some shots you can take to "fake" ovulation. Can I ask my gynecologist to prescribe it to me, or do I have to see an RE? Also, I mentioned clomid to my gynecologist at my last visit and she said she would talk about it with me in a few months after naturally trying on our own. What exactly does clomid do? Does it produce more follicles/eggs or does it make you ovulate? I'm a regular posting in hiding, and you think I would know about everything by now, but I'm so confused lol.

Re: temping question
i am not 100% certain on either of my answers, but i am pretty sure clomid helps induce ovulation. I also think seeing an RE would be your best bet if you want to start treatments
good luck!

Re: temping question
Personally, if you're certain you have PCOS I would see an RE. IMO, they'll be more experienced in helping a PCOS patient get pg and they'll be able to provide better tx options. Also, if clomid is necessary they'll be able to provide much better monitoring than a gyn. good luck to you

Re: temping question
If you have PCOS go see an RE...they specialize in that...clomid does not make you ovulate it does for some get you to produce more follicles...it really depends on how your body reacts...I know for some it doesnt do anything...I produced 2-3 follicles on it but it thinned out my lining...if you going to try fertilty meds you need to be monitored by an RE..I wasted 2 months with my gyn when he prescribed clomid & TI and I regret it.

clomid will not make u ovulate..if u need to trigger for ovulation u can have a shot to do that but it is not faking it forces ovulation
eta..if u have PCOS u may not ovulate,i do not and i would also go straight to a RE
