Temping Question

It's probably irrealivant because my temps are always so wacky that FF never detects O by my temps. I know I O'd b/c I got a +OPK last week. In any case, typically how many DPO days if you are not pregnant do your temps start to drop? My temp spiked on 4DPO, but it's been dropping since. I did read that your temps drop at implantation and then rise again and stay high if your are pregnant.

TIA!

Re: Temping Question

My temps dropped on12 or 13 DPO and then I got AF on day 14. Are your temps still above the coverline. 4 DPO seems way to early for you to start to get AF soon. Do you know what your LP usually is?

Actually, I found out that a +OPK does not = O. It only means the LH surged.

I know that. I know that when you get your surge, you *should* O within 24-36 hours after.

Re: Temping Question

My temps drop the day before my AF starts...

If you take your temps right (which is hard to do and only few us know how to) the rule is that your temps should be below 98 degrees before you O and above 98 once you ovulate...then again below 98 once your AF starts....

A drop in temps during 2ww could mean low progesterone which is the hormone that keeps your temp high after O....and is needed to support a pregnancy...

Since you mentioned that FF can't detect your O based on your temps I assume you are not taking them properly so don't worry..it doesn't mean you didn't O or it doesn't mean you are not pregnant either it just hard to tell based on your temps...

Just looked at your chart and you are definietly not taking your temps right...would you consider vaginal temping?? it might be better for you since you are having troubles orally..

Good luck!Chat Icon

Re: Temping Question

I saw you had a m in the meds spot. Is this your first month on Met? I hate to say it but my first 2 months on Met I got +OPK but I didn't O. On the third month I had a clear O with +opk, peak on cbefm and a temp shift. So if it is your first month don't get discouraged it takes time for the meds to start working right Chat Icon Chat Icon

Thanks!

I don't understand though how I'm not taking my temp correctly. I take it every single morning at the same time (with one occasional ooops, overslept). I keep the thermometor on the bed table so I don't have to get up or reach far for it.

I have an GYN appointment on Friday, so I'll get her opinions and advice.

Yes, I'm on Met, it's my first month. But I have a feeling based on my most current blood work, the Dr. will advise me to discontinue it.

We are not doctors so it is best to get advice from one...your Gyn will give you the right info....also, most doctors don't even go by temps (elevated) as a pregnancy symptom...yes, it could be sign but not one that they really care about..

Sorry you may have to discontinue it. For me it has been a little miracle pill so far. Good luck with the blood work.

Sorry I misunderstood. Yes not needing it is a good thing. I hope you get good results and get rid of the Met. I wish I didn't need it. I would kill for a big bowl of regular pasta with bread mmmm bread. (I have to follow low carb on Met)
