Temping ques....
Ok so this may sound dumb but is it possible to only temp for like 7-10 days during your cycle (as opposed to the whole month). So lets say I only temp CD 8-16 - I usually O around 14 and am pretty regular and will still use OPK's. Do you think I will see/notice a spike?
I am asking bc I am not sure if I am ready to go full-throttle and temp every single day. I'd rather play around a bit more and continue OPK use before trying temping all the time.
Ok 2nd ques - how much does your temp spike .5 to 1 degree? Once I see the temp then I start BD bc I will O that day? I will be doing Deanna's plan too, so I will have BDing in before O. Ughh this sounds so complicated, please tell me it is not!!!!!

it's not complicated but i think you're getting it backwards. when u see the spike in temp, you've already O'ed - too late to BD. it's more of a way to confirm O than anything else. my spike was around .5ish sometimes a little less.

Ohhhhhhhhhhh I see. So maybe I dont really need to temp. I am pretty regular and usually always get O cramps and +OPK. Hmm...anyone else, what do you think? Should I, shouldnt I?

Re: Temping ques....
I guess it is possible to only temp during that time frame and see a temp shift. Are you planning on using Fertility Friend..that would prob. be the easiest way. As Bear said, once you see the thermal shift you have already O'd. The point is to prior to that shift. A shift of .4 degrees or higher with three consecutive high temps are needed to confirm O.

Re: Temping ques....
Yes, there are methods where you only need to temp for 10 days. But O isnt confirmed until you've seen a temp rise for 3 consecutive days. So if you know you O on CD 14, you wouldnt see the spike until CD 15 and you'd have to temp until CD17 at least to confirm O. The drawback with temping is that you can't plan based on your temps because the spike comes the day AFTER you O. So, the best thing to do is to go by CM, and OPKs. Use the temping to confirm you O. Otherwise, there's no need for it. HTH!!!
