temping info
i am sure i can find this info out online, but since i am at work i try not to search the internet for these pregnancy related things so i am hoping you ladies can help... can some one give me a quick tutorial on temping (temping 101 for dummies lol)?
i know to temp every morning at the same time before i get out of bed. but what does that tell me? when my temp changes does that mean i am about to o? or did i already o? when do i when my temp goes up or down? any info will help
the past 2 months i just used opks and would get a positive for 2-3 days. but since that was unsuccessful, i want to start temping too to help track things and get my days right

Re: temping info
Temping doesn't predict your O date since your temp goes up after you have already O'd (so in theory you'd want to BD before you see the spike). But if you track the pattern then you'll get a better sense for when you typically O in your cycle. It's an unmistakable way to confirm. "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" has an excellent explanation of this and examples of different patterns of temp, which can be affected by hormone levels throughout your cycle.
Taking your temp first thing when you wake up before getting out of bed is correct!

Re: temping info
I recommend inputting your temps into a program like FertilityFriend.com instead of trying to figure it out for yourself.

Re: temping info
There will be a spike in your temperature when you O. It won't help you this month because you won't realize you owed until you have the change in temperature but it will help for future months if you realize a consistent spike in your temperature around the same time each month. I also recommend fertility friend.
