Temping Basics
Good Morning Ladies,
Hope you all had a nice mother's day. I actually got through it a lot better than I had thought. Dh was very sweet and bought me a dozen roses for "the best mommy to one day be in the world" .
Mother's Day was to be my deadline, meaning if I wasn't at least PG by then, it would be time to take further action. I have my annual exam at the end of the month, so I am going to ask my OB/Gyn to do bloodwork and get the process going to make sure all of me is working the way it is supposed to. I've discussed with DH about him getting a SA and he is on board.
I've also decided that I am going to try temping this month. I've been using the CBEFM, but I know that the only way to confirm O is to temp, so I would like to add that to my regime. Can someone please outline for me the basics for how to temp and what to look for? Also, which thermometer should I use?
TIA for your help

Re: Temping Basics
You need to buy a basal thermometer, which you can buy at any drugstore...
There is a section on temping in the locked post at the top of the board which is helpful... *The OFFICIAL Everything You Wanted to Know, and Things You Never Even Thought of Thread About TTC*

Re: Temping Basics
When you sign up for Fertility Friend, there are a number of tutorial lessons that you can sign up to have set to your email each day. There are also video tutorials.
The very basics of temping are you get a basal thermometer and set your alarm so that you take your temperature at the same time every day. You take your temperature before you do anything else and move as little as possible. It should be after at least 3 hours of continuous sleep. Then you record the time and temperature on your chart. After you O, most people see a sustained temperature shift of .5 degrees or more.
Hope that helps!
