Temping

Is anyone temping and having difficulty deciphering their charts? Do you guys get up early on weekends to temp?

I get up at 5 am during the week and I guess I need to start getting up at 5 am to temp on the weekend too. I have been temping at 7 on the weekend and I think it is making my chart messed up.

It says I ovulated on CD19 this cycle. Does that make sense?

Trying to figure this all out!

Re: Temping

If you are taking your temp two hours later that does make a difference on your chart. it needs to be the same time everyday, or you need to adjust your temperature, which you can do on FF.

You may have ovulated on CD 19. That is not too uncommon. Can you post your chart so we can look at it?

Re: Temping

You definitely need to temp at the same time each day as much of a PITA as that may be. I was a temper and it stunk, but I did it and had a much easier time when the time was consistent from day to day.

Re: Temping

I agree with all of the above statements.

I wake up at 5:45 on weekdays and on weekends maybe 7ish. I adjusted my temps this cycle but if there is another cycle (praying for there not to be!) I am going to just wake up, temp, write it down and roll over!!!

Re: Temping

Ok thanks ladies. I will get up at the same time everyday and temp from now on.

Can you change the time you temp at the beginning of a cycle? I am going to be working summer school this summer and I don't have to get up as early. So can I change my temping time?

I don't know if I can post my chart. I will try. I have been using the software that comes with the TCOYF book and charting through that.

Let me try.

ETA: It's not working.

I noticed that where ever you EWM that will be the day that you ovulated. I had EWM but didn't ovulate because I was being followed by my RE and they told I hadn't ovualted yet based on blood work and sonos.....so I go by temp spikes.

That's not actually true. Some women can have EWCM but not ovulate at all - EWCM is usually a sign that you're *about to* ovulate, but sometimes you don't actually. Your cycle could have serveral patches of fertile CM where it's gearing up to O but never releases an egg. Also, women have varying amounts of CM - some have 2-3 days, some more, some less. Personally I usually get EWCM about 3 days before I O but by my O date, it's all dried up.

Definitely BD whenever you see it though because regardless of whether it's a few days before O or not, sperm can live in fertile CM for about 5 days.

Yes, you can set a default time at the beginning of a new cycle. Just as long as you stick with it. My thermometer actually stores the temp in it - so I just stick it in my mouth until it beeps and then take it out - sometimes don't even look at it until hours later.
