Re: temp question

not sure what you mean by "when" so i'll give you all the answers:

* if you want to use temp to monitor ovulation, you should prob start tracking cycles 2-3 months before you want to TTC. this isn't necessary, but it'll help you get to know your own cycle and take some of the guesswork/frustration out of TTC.

* take your temp at the same time every AM--means you have to commit to a wake-up time, even if you go back to sleep after--before you stand-up. even mild activity can throw off your temp.

* start temping each cycle right after AF clears. during AF, temps tend to be erratic and not of much use, so sleep late that week and wait until CD5 or so.

Re: temp question

I just started reading taking charge of your fertility. This morning was my first day temping. I read that you can start at any point in your cycle.. but you'll have to wait until you O next cycle to see when it actually happened. So essentially you'll be temping for longer than 1 month to learn anything. I started anyway (CD 21) just because I think its very interesting.

Re: temp question

i use FertilityFriend.com...very useful info! i started temping a few days after AF...you really do have to stick with the same time every morning and DO NOT get out of bed...i made the mistake once sat up and then remembered to take my temp...temp was much higher than usual

Re: temp question

I love temping! It is my first cycle doing it, but it does take the guess work out of it. As soon as I begin to move around waking up, I pop the thermometer in my mouth! I keep it on my nightstand so I don't need to move much. GL!

Re: temp question

I began temping at the end of AF, around cd3 or 4, everyday at 630 am, including weekends. As soon as your alarm goes off, grab the thermometer, don't move and take the temp. Then after i really woke up later on, I would enter the temp in fertilty friend.
Also, I temped vaginally, as I read it was more accurate. I enjoyed temping and seeing on a chart what was going on with my body. Oddly, I 'missed' doing it after i got pregnant.

Sign up for fertilityfriend, there's so much info available which will explain everything. Good luck!!

me too and totally recommend it! it's no fun to wake up early on weekends for 2 weeks and then realize on CD14 that you slept with your mouth open and your temp is totally off Chat Icon
