teething 1 year molars can cause picky eating?
help... do I keep trying to offer food he'll want? Or is it "eat what I made or go hungry" time? 
I always said I would never give in to a picky eater, but I can't help feeling bad for him when he's teething. Runny nose too.
And if I give in and give him strawberries and mum mums for dinner again ... is this going to ruin his wonderful palate? He was such a good eater ate veggies, beans, sardines, eggs - and loved it. Now he'll take a bite, and spit it out like it makes his teeth hurt.

Just give him what he will eat..It is rough. Most babies will go back to their normal diet once the teeth come through. Can't use my DS as an example as he has feeding issues...My friends DS only ate yogurt, jello, and mushy foods until his molar popped through and then went back to his regular eating habits...

YES! DS is a GREAT eater, but teething has really impacted his food intake many times. It will pass but def. offer a variety of foods until it does!

We went through this with the 1 year molars - my wonderful eater became picky! He actually preferred jarred foods at times(which i resorted to in desperation) than the food i made for him from scratch. Lasted 2 weeks and then my amazing eater came back! It was a stage, I think he just didn't want anything with too much texture or real flavor.
It's happening again now that his canines are coming in. One of those s uckers is about to break through, you can see it cutting his gum andf his eating has been less than stellar these last 3 days.
I never thought I'd give in either but if it's caused by teething or illness, I try to understand bc sometimes when i'm sick i don't want to eat either (or want something very specific).
You won't ruin his palate giving him fruit/snacks, he'll be back to his old self soon.

I am soooo happy that you wrote this - my 19 month old is cutting her 2 yr molars - runny nose too.
Was a fantastic eater! Great appetite and decent variety, has now diminshed to hardly anything.
thank you for posting this, reading the responses has shed some light and hope!
I too never wanted to give in to a picky eater, but don't want to starve my baby girl though....

ITA, DS is the same way. It will go back to normal!
Yes so true. DS went through this phase. He lived off the same foods for a while. Then once the molars started coming through he ate like a champ and his appetite got bigger.
