Teachers science fair question
Is it mandatory to do it at your school?

In our school, yes.
However, it's not a typical "science fair". Each student does a reasearch project, writes it up on a display board and they are shown off at our "Learning Fair" (for all subjects/grades) at the begining of May.

yes! the projects are a major part of the third quarter. I believe it would be impossible for a child to pass the quarter if they did not do a project.

not mandatory, but we usually alternate years between the science and social studies fair

Yes.. but each class submits one not every individual child.
