Teacher moms, babies in FT daycare...

I'm thinking ahead to February break...woohoo!Chat Icon

We pay monthly, so we of course will be charged for a full month, even with that week off. Do you plan on keeping your DC out of daycare that whole week? Part of me wonders if I should have her go in for half days a couple times...just to keep her in the routine. Does it even matter, will it even help? What do you plan on doing?

Re: Teacher moms, babies in FT daycare...

I went back to work just 3 weeks before December break of 08. I put Abby in day care as she just started and I didn't want to break her new routine. Unless we have an appointment, she goes to day care during my school breaks. Our day care offers one week off at half tuition twice a year. We aren't going on vacation so I'm not taking the reduced rate. I also need a break. I like sitting on my butt and doing nothing everyonce in a while.

Usually I send her a couple days and keep her home a couple days. We pay for the full week regardless. I don't want to break her routine, and DH and I never go out because we have no babysitter, so depending on his schedule (our breaks don't line up) we might be able to grab lunch or a movie.

Usually, my time to myself consists of catching up on laundry, schoolwork/grading and cleaning, anyway. Chat Icon Chat Icon

DH is a teacher and we keep Logan home when DH is off. He loves spending the time with him.

Re: Teacher moms, babies in FT daycare...

My daycare runs on the DOE schedule, so it's closed that week anyway. if it was not closed, i think I would keep her home a a couple of days and put her in a couple of days--just to get things done. you don't realize that once DD is in daycare and you have an extra hour or so to yourself (being a teacher, I get out before the earliest pick-up time) little errands are so much easier.
