Tantrums in 14/15 month old
All of a sudden if Ian doesn't get his way he goes into downward dog pose and lays his head on the floor and cries. OR he sits (or stands) and puts his head all the way back and stiffens it like i feel like its gonna break off. so i end up laying him down cause it looks like hes going to fall backwards and bust his head. it only lasts for a couple of minutes but is this normal??

Re: Tantrums in 14/15 month old
My former sweetie-pie started doing this too about 2 weeks ago. He also bangs his head - which drives me nuts. He'll bang it on the wall, the floor, the couch, you - whatever. He'll do it once & then look at you with either an "Am I in trouble?" look or a "What are you going to do about it?" look. Other than yell/tell him to stop it I don't know what to do!

DS is 14 months and has been throwing tantrums since 11 months old. We try to ignore him and distract him.

Re: Tantrums in 14/15 month old
Mason started the tantrums also around that age. He's 19 months and they've slowed down (knock on wood)
Maybe b/c he's communicating a little more. Who knows, but for some reason every time we walked in the house after I picked him up at daycare (mind you at DC he was all happy and the teachers raved how good he was). The tantrums only started with me.
Like I said.. it is getting better so hopefully it'll pass.

Same here. At first I wasn't sure what to do, but distracting or ignoring works great!

Yea normal, enjoy this form of a tantrum, teddy is at the arm waving and build up to a melt down stage.
