Talk to me about Vitex?
Anyone use Vitex, I heard it mentioned, researched it and even got some today. I am confused on the dosage amount to take (the research say different amounts) and also do I onlt take it from AF to O? or all the way through until a positive pregnancy test? It says not to take while pregnant so I am trying to make sense of all this. TIA!

I have been taking it for the past 6-7 months...
I take it to regulate my progesterone levels which are very high after O - which cause for me to have very very sore boobs and sometimes even "morning sickness" (just like pregnancy)....ever since Vitex, I have been feeling great....and my PMS symptoms are almost gone...
I take 1000mg (from GNC)..I take it the whole cycle....but some people stop after O...
Good luck...I really believe it makes a difference.....

ok, thanks for the information. I have heard amazing things about Vitex. But, i've been reading that you are to only take it from AF to O and only 40mg a day??? I bought 250mg per capsule and it states to take it daily. Stop if pregnant as well. Vitex states that it helps with lactation for nursing as well. Helps produce more milk supply. Wish I knew this when nursing my daughter!
Did you talk to your dr. about Vitex? or was it done through research and yuor decision to take the amount?

HI...I was the poster that wrote about it. I took the dosage on the bottle...I believe it is 250 mg a day. I took 1 in the morning. You are supposed to take it from AF to ovulation. Its says to not take during pregnancy so you should stop taking it at o if you are TTC.

I just looked on Amazon.com and you can get Fertility Blend for Women and for Men - they both contain "vitex" - I may try them!

I started taking it a couple of weeks ago after the thread then... so far no changes but hopefully in the long-term it will help to regulate my cycle. I bought it at GNC, I take one pill a day, as per the directions on the bottle.
