Talk to me about....
Placenta Previa and Short Cervix.
Went for my level 2 scan today at 20 weeks 4 days. OB said that my placenta is partially covering my cervix. She's not concerned right now because there's still time for things to move, but it was important enough for her to mention.
She also mentioned that my cervix is only 3.1 and wants me to come back next week to make sure I don't have a short cervix. When I asked what it means if I do, she wouldn't really tell me and basically said "we'll discuss that if we have to."

I didn't have that from what i understand it might mean bed rest, no sex, etc..

Placenta previa pretty much means a guaranteed c-section b/c the placenta is blocking the exit!
Like pp said, short cervix means your cervix is a little soft and weak and you will likely have to be on bedrest to prevent preterm labor.

i was told i had placenta previa at 20 weeks... going for a 30 wk scan nxt week to see if its still covering or if it has moved.
my dr said she will not make a final suggestion on a birth plan (csection) until i'm 39 weeks and we know for sure if the placenta has moved or not.
