Re: talk to me 1st bday parties

For our DD's party we had about 55-60 people there (and that list was cut down) at a nice restaurant near our house. We had a back room and there was s small seperate room with a long table that we jused for activities lfor the kids like coloring and stickers. We hired Elmo and Cookie and a face painter. It was alot of fun. DD will absoloutely not remember a second of it, but we do and had a great time.

You're not crazy for thinking too soon! DS will be 8 months this week and it's on my brain too! I like to make a lot of things myself (decorations, favors, games, etc.) so I want to get an early start!

I'm thinking I want small but worried about the whole if you invite this one, you have to invite that one and it will blow up.

Anywho.. we'll definitely do a backyard party at home. Depending on how many people, we'll rent a tent or use two large shade tents that we have. Most likely going with a sock monkey theme keeping it simple old school balloons and streamers. I've google image searched some sock monkey cake ideas to try and make along with cupcakes. Food will be home cooked, we have sternos. Beer, wine, soda, water, juice.

I'll make a pin the tail on the sock monkey, have a table with crayons, construction paper and scissors (did this at his blessing and it was a big hit) and I may blow up the kiddie pool (it's a good sized one).

We like at home casual parties. Chat Icon

Re: talk to me 1st bday parties

Having DS party in 2 weeks. We are having around 35-40 people, and it is at my In-laws house. If we invited are whole family on both sides, we would of had at least 80-90 people. So we decided to cut out all cousins and some friends. I would love to have everyone, but I just didn't want to have another big party like his Baptism.
We are having appt, Heros, Salad's, and Hot dishes from a restaurant. DH is making his cake and my FIl is making cookies. My mom is making fruit Salad and favors for the kids.
I'm doing a Sesame Street theme. I got all plates, decorations and will order alot of balloons. We are setting up tables and may have to rent chairs. We hardly have any kids coming, so I don't have anything for them to do other then putting toys out. I also plan on doing an adult favor like Chocolate Lollipops or M&Ms.

Re: talk to me 1st bday parties

Id love to see your pics, if it was located at a house, hall, restauraunt, etc. What the favors were, what was the theme and what activities did you have for the kids. Oh and what your menu looked like. Haha sorry so many questions, I'm just clueless right now. Not sure where we'll have it but the ages of kids will range from 10m - 4 years old. Mostly babies though
Thanks so much guys!!
