Re: Taking holiday pictures yourself
I've used the Kissam barn in Huntington & they came out pretty good.
I've also used the gazebo in Northport, the Apple orchard, an evergreen tree, Northport Harbor, a tree.
I usually take the photo & then crop in closely for the photo because I want close ups on my card.

I just went to Gardiner park in Brightwaters/Bayshore this morning. I walked through the wooded paths til I found some good spots. I will post a few pics later.

I am in NJ, but I just took them to a local park with nice green grass & fall foliage.

Re: Taking holiday pictures yourself
At our old apt we had a fireplace. So my sister came over and I made funny faces and positioned Kaydyn and she took pics. Some in front of our xmas tree and some in front of the fireplace.

For DS's first Christmas, I just threw a plaid blanket over my couch. I think they came out really cute.

Re: Taking holiday pictures yourself
We are getting a puppy this week. I'll bring DD (3) and pup outside and sit them in front of an evergreen bush and get a close up of them together. I'll dress DD in something cute and holiday looking and maybe put a bow on the pup.
I know this is total wishful thinking I'll probably have to send and outtake on the card.
