Take on the Situation
So, after this second MC, DH and I have decided to take a little break from TTC... at least until we've been able to see the RE (appointment in September). I am using this time to really buckle down and get in better shape and lose the weight I've needed to lose. I know that there are a million possibilities as to why the MC's happened, but research has shown that being very overweight (like I am) can contribute... and pushing 200 pounds (God that number looks so much worse when it's actually typed out) at 5'5" is NOT a healthy weight. Got back to the gym this morning (first time since right before I got the last BFP) and I already feel my energy and mood uplifted.

Re: Take on the Situation
Of course improving your health is ALWAYS a good thing, even if you are not TTC. And of course, it can't hrt on the TTC process. Do you have PCOS? There is a correlation to MC with PCOS due to the hormone imbalance (and being overweight can also be a part of PCOS). Some RE's feel that weight is the be all and end all of IF. Others say it may be a factor but isn't the ONLY thing in the way of achieving a pregnancy. And then some dismiss it all together and look at the big picture, ALL the factors contributing to IF (where weight is really just a symptom of a bigger issue like PCOS). So with that said, here is my story: Have been overweight (obese) my whole life with a few times where I was able to lose enough to just be on the other side of obese. I never ovulated on my own, even when I was "thin" for me. I have severe PCOS and was not able to get pregnant for over 4 years. Took every drug known to man-kind. Did IUI's and IVF. When I finally did get pregnant it stuck. No MC. So, based on statistics, if weigh on its own contributes to MC, I should have been aa prime candidate but it didn't happen. Sorry for the long response but just wanted to give you an example of how what you read doesn't always translate into real life. And there can be so many factors at play with IF. Best of luck to you and hope you get answers with your RE visit!!

Take on the Situation
I've never been diagnosed with it, but I wouldn't be surprised... for years before going on the pill I had severe periods - vomiting, cramping, severe pain, and extremely heavy (would go through a super tampon in 2 hours). That ended maybe a year or so before I went on the pill - which by happenstance, was also when I was in pretty darn good shape. I've had 2 MC in 4 months, so I don't know what the correlation is. And OF COURSE improving health is always good, I had lost about 10 pounds prior to getting pregnant with the first MC, but have slowly gained it back after just being so sad and depressed. Hoping that the RE can give me some answers.
