Take Home Outfit

I picked out a knit one piece outfit and a matching hat from the Gap to bring DD home in. It comes in pink, gray and blue. I am due 3/13.

I brought dd home in a cute sleep n play and plan on doing the same thing this time
I found those to be the easiest to deal with when doing diaper changes
Dd was born in feb so any pants/shirt/dress outfits would mean needing to put socks on since it was cold and socks never seem to stay on

Re: Take Home Outfit

We're due about the same time! I've looked at some really sweet outfits on etsy (we're having b/g twins) -- but unfortunately they looked a bit difficult to get the newborns into/out of.

Looking forward to seeing everyone's choices!

Re: Take Home Outfit

I brought both boys home in a cute little cotton outfits. Something comfortable with a matching little hat.

Best advice, something easy and comfortable is best.

Re: Take Home Outfit

I'm team green so I bought two coming home outfits, one boy, one girl. Each has pants, a long sleeved onsie, and a fleece vest. I'll pair it with socks and a hat and then put a blanket over the baby when taking him/her out to the already-heated car Chat Icon

I think I am ordering personalized outfits on Etsy. This way if they are identical we can tell them apart Chat Icon

Re: Take Home Outfit

DH and I decided on this outfit. We picked it up this week at Macy's. I absolutely love it! Just need to get a little hat and/or headband.

I got a cute little neutral kimono-style outfit, and I have a handmade sweater, hat and booties to put over it.

Re: Take Home Outfit

I'm team Chat Icon and due in 2 weeks. I'm buying two different outfits. For a girl, a cream sweater onesie with red heart and cute red hat from Baby Gap. I'm still deciding on boy outfit, but possibly one of the sweater onesies from Hannah Andersen. I was team green with DD and took her home in a gender neutral outfit, but it was kind of boring, so I wanted to do something different this time.

Re: Take Home Outfit

I'm taking her home in the outfit both myself and my younger sister were taken home in. It's a cotton 2 piece set with a matching bonnet.

My mom was so great about preserving a lot of our baby clothes, so it looks like I just bought it and took the tags off.

This was ours. Had DS March 17th and it was a really cold day, so we ended up using the puffer as well.

Honestly, I don't get caught up in coming home outfits. The most important thing is that they be comfortable. Chances are they'll fuss over the bows and hats and it won't stay on very long. A sleep and play or a onesie in the summer is fine.

Re: Take Home Outfit

I agree with those who recommended something simple and preferably footed. When things get too complicated it's less comfortable for baby and less convenient for you. Socks on newborns are like hats on toddlers... they last five minutes if you're lucky.

Dd#1 came home in a three piece outfit (onesie, footed pants, light cardigan) with a hat and blanket to keep her warm. For Dd#2 I've picked out a footed one piece and matching hat. Just waiting for it to go on sale or to get a coupon before I purchase haha.

Just as an FYI - it looks a little thick to be in a car seat if that's the type of outfit you're leaning towards.
