Swollen Lymph Node
I woke up this morning with a swollen lymph node on the left side of my neck. I feel it, and you can only see it when I turn my head a certain way.
I’m not ill, but my allergies have been flaring up. I also had an extensive root canal on Monday on that left side...not sure if that would have anything to do with it.
I don’t truly believe it is serious, just looking for some input.
Anyone else have this?

Re: Swollen Lymph Node
I actually just had this for a couple weeks and it scared the crap out of me. I went to the dr. They gave me steroids and a antibiotic and told me if it didn’t go down in 48 hrs to go for an ultrasound. I did. And the ultrasound basically said I should go for a biopsy. And then the lump went away! Lol. The dr said I should see my endo which I’m going to anyways. But I’m no longer worried. I was possibly on heightened alert because my mother just passed away from cancer and that was how it was discovered! So I probably was a little more anxiety ridden than I should have been.

Re: Swollen Lymph Node
You should always get lumps looked at. Most likely it’s nothing but it’s always better to get a confirmation that is nothing.
My mom has been dealing with getting swollen lymph nodes for the past few years. She has had many sonograms, ct scans and biopsy but they all turn up negative for lymphoma but she still goes to the dr regularly to have the nodes looked at and measured to make sure they aren’t growing. It gives us peace of mind that someone is watching them.

Swollen Lymph Node
Same thing here! Although in the past few months they have really shrunk. I have Psoriasis on small portion of my scalp though, so that is what they have chalked it up to. Any kind of potential infection on your head would cause those nodes to swell I was told by the ENT. I had an ultrasound about 3 years ago, and they said they were normal functioning nodes, and there was no need to get a biopsy or CT scan. They have shrunk quite a bit. I know if I start messing with them, they get large again! So quit touching them. If yours feel hard or rubbery, then I would get it looked at

Could be an infection from the root canal tooth. I’d call the dentist emergency line tomorrow.
Dh got one in his armpit years ago and after 3 different Drs looked at him they finally figured out it was cat scratch fever from our new kitten.

Swollen Lymph Node
Thanks everyone!
I think it may have something to do with my teeth because when I chew on that tooth, there is still pain and it really should not hurt because the root is dead and filled. Have an appointment Wednesday but will try and get one sooner.
And I need to stop playing with it! I had a physical and a whole blood panel done the Wednesday before last and everything was normal. Of course this appears AFTER that lol.
My SIL is a PA so I may have her take a look when she gets back from her weekend away.
Thanks for the encouraging words!

.
Very likely from your root canal. I would revisit dentist in case there is an infection.
