Switching from Pampers to Luvs?
I'm going to run out of size 1's from my baby shower pretty soon and was thinking of making the switch. I know that I'll have to pick up a bag and try them out for myself but was wondering about the quality of Luvs. I feel like every other diaper brand besides Pampers gets crapped on (pun intended), but realize that I could save $$$ by switching to Luvs because they are significantly cheaper. If you use them, do you like them? Do you find they leak? I know they don't have the wetness strip indicator on them, but I figured I'd be able to tell when the diaper was wet by just feeling it.

Re: Switching from Pampers to Luvs?
I would start out with a smaller pack to see how you like them. I switched from Pampers to Target and they are not as soft but they do the job and I saved so much $.

I actually like them better. I agree to try small park first though to make sure fit is okay

I actually don't mind the Luvs, size 2. Though pampers are still our favorite, the Luvs are our 2nd favorite.

Switching from Pampers to Luvs?
We almost exclusively use luvs. Sometimes up & up. I only buy pampers or huggies if I can pay as little as I do for luvs.
only time we have a leak, with any diaper brand, is if we somehow put it on cockeyed or if she fell asleep between her bottle and last diaper change. But that's any diaper, not just luvs.
ETA: I paid $25 (incl tax) last week for a box of 186 size 3 luvs that were delivered right to my front door thanks to Amazon mom. Can't beat that!

I'm thinking of joining Amazon Mom (or just getting Amazon Prime which includes it from what I understand), but don't have it yet. Can you tell me how much is a "good" price for Luvs per diaper when purchased in a store? Where do you find you get the best in-store diaper prices? I have a BJ's membership......

Haha I figured it would be good info to put down. Love Amazon mom/prime. So worth it. I also get wipes cheap - huggies pack of either 600+ or 700+ for around $12-13.

The only time I buy diapers in store is if I can get a really good coupon or gift card deal. I once got 4 packs of pampers from cvs for about $3 a package (about 40 diapers in a package). But I had a ton of extracare bucks and coupons.

Target was the best fit and she never leaked through. And they were the cheapest. 5% off with red card and an additional 5% via cartwheel.

Switching from Pampers to Luvs?
I switched to Luvs for my dd a long time ago, and they've been great. I feel like they're softer and seem like they would be more comfortable than Huggies and pampers, which seem stiff to me.

Switching from Pampers to Luvs?
Love them. When my first was a newborn I remember standing in target with my phone out calculating and comparing the cost of pampers and huggies with my coupons and the sales and it was such a pain. By the time she was 3 or 4 months I was so over it and switched to Luvs and we actually had less leaks than I had with the expensive brands. I also love not having to go crazy finding sales. I used to buy the cases in target or shoprite when they were 16.99 and I usually had a dollar off coupon. Both stores had that price often. Now I get the bigger cases from amazon mom which is $24 for 216 size 2. Last time I checked BJ's they didn't carry the smaller sizes of Luvs. You may also find you go through less diapers when you start going by feel vs. the wetness strip!

Switching from Pampers to Luvs?
When DS 1 was born, we used only Pampers (Swaddlers to be exact). When DS 2 was born and we were now shopping for 2 in diapers, it was getting costly. Then one day, DH came home and asked if I can keep an open mind about something. He wanted to try Luvs. Once I got past how ugly they are (am I right? Lol) I said we can try them. I can't remember the last case of Pampers we bought (but we still will only use Pampers wipes). The Luvs diapers really are great and never a leak with a diaper that was on properly. Very rare will we have soaked pajamas in the morning. Not sure of NY but for a case of 100 size 4 in Walmart in VA is about $19.
And another story about Luvs... We were swimming this past weekend and DS still had his diaper on. I forgot to take it off before getting in water. Once I remembered, the amount of water absorbed was amazing and the diaper did not burst or come apart at all!

It's actually funny you said that. We thought we were a Luvs fan again bc when we were in Disney a few weeks ago the same tbingn happened. We forgot to switch his diaper and it grew and grew in the pooland never exploded. I was so impressed!! But then this week every diaper in the morning has exploded. So I gave up on them (and yes it is on correctly). Wonder if I got a bad pack.

Switching from Pampers to Luvs?
We did the switch to Luvs at around 9 months. I had been using Pampers Swaddlers for the longest time, and then accidentally bought the Pampers Baby Dry. The diaper was a bit thinner and not as "plush". I was annoyed with myself, but decided to use them anyway. I was amazed at how well it held overnight. No more leaks like we had with Swaddlers... so we stuck to those. A month or two later I was at my friends house and needed an extra diaper. I put on a Luvs and realized it was the exact same diaper -- size, feel, thickness as the Baby Dry. She told me to take one home and compare it to see for myself. I did, and she was right. I later came to find out that Pampers also owns Luvs -- so im sure their Baby Dry line is exactly the same as Luvs -- just without the licensing, and the Sesame STreet characters on them!

Unless Pampers are the only diaper that works for you, idk why anyone uses them. They are crazy $$!!!! Luvs saved us like $50/mo and worked just as well!

Switching from Pampers to Luvs?
Never liked LUVS. We used Pampers swaddlers up until size 3. Then we played around for a while and stuck with Huggies. Now we are in size 6 and making the switch back to Pampers as they run a little bigger than the Huggies and DS is almost falling out of size 6.

I loved LUVS. use them with both my kids. To me they remind me of the quality of pampers at a fraction of the cost!
