switching bottles

DD uses Dr. Browns since she had reflux when she was a baby.
We need to buy new bottles since the pieces seem to keep disappearing & they are just getting warn.
Now that she is 1 I'm thinking of switching brands, I don't think she will care as long as there's milk in it.
Any recommendations for a big girl bottleChat Icon ?
Or has any one switched & had an issue with DC not wanting it?

Didn't switch bottles that late but have you thought about switching her to a straw cup instead? I transitioned DS off of bottles at 1 and he did fine, but he had been drinking water from a straw for about 6 months at that point.

Re: switching bottles

the easiest bottles to deal with are the old fashioned, cheapo gerber bottles. They are easy to clean, and if you used the standard Dr. brown's they are the same shape. I went from dr. brown's to gerber much younger than 1.

I agree with PP, try to move to a straw or sippy cup now. DD is 2.5 and still will only drink milk from a bottle. We are really struggling to get her off her bottles, but she eats so little so I give in. I wish I tried when she was younger and less stubborn!

Re: switching bottles

She's been drinking water from her straw sippy cup for about 6 months & she loves it.
I was thinking of switching her mid day bottle to the cup but she never wants to nap & I feel like it will be even worse with out having a bottle first.
I don't know, too many decisions & I never know what I'm doingChat Icon

Re: switching bottles

We switched DS to Gerber bottles at 8 months. So much easier... No issues with gas either. There is no rush to get her off the milk bottle. DS will only drink milk out of a bottle and he is 2.5 y/o. He drinks everything else out of straw cups.
