Swimming lessons?

I want to enroll my 3yo DS in swimming lessons. Can you recommend a good swim school near Syosset/Woodbury/Plainview? I'm looking for classes where the parent does not have to get in the water with the child.

The only places that come to mind are the YMCAs in Huntington and Glen Cove. Is one nicer than the other?

Re: Swimming lessons?

I don't know about those areas but DS goes to Saf-T-Swim. I think with any place make sure you have the right instructor.

I've had a year worth of sessions with one guy and cancelled them for another instructor that DS worked much better with.

So, no matter where you go, make sure you're not locked into a certain instructor that there are a few to chose from and have the option to do so.

Re: Swimming lessons?

I prefer the ymca iced safety swim. My girls have done both. Safety swim is more money but it's one on one lessons. I felt the ymca taught my girls more. I also like that they don't hold onto them while swimming.
