Swelling - at what point would you call your OB?
I've been getting severe swelling in both my feet and ankles for the past week or 2. At first it started as normal swelling, but now its to the point when I literally cannot walk on my feet, I cant even see ankles (it looks like my feet are just a continuation of my calves), and they become red and itchy. I'm drinking tons of water (I'm talking like over 100oz per day), lowered my sodium intake, and try to keep my feet propped up. Nothing helps. The only time the swelling goes down is overnight -- I keep my feet propped up on 2 pillows while i sleep -- when I wake up they're almost normal, but still slightly swollen. But within 10 minutes of being out of bed, they balloon again.
I mentionned it to my doctor last time I saw her (about a week and a half ago) before it got really bad and she just kept saying to drink more water and take in less sodium. I've been doing this and I'm starting to worry that its just getting worse. When should I worry?

You have concerns- definitely call. I always have issues wondering if I should call as well...but I should think your swelling isn't improving, that is definitely a good reason to call. Let us know what happens!

I have that same exact problem. That hurt too on top of that. They are looking pretty purple this morning and i can't even remember the last time i saw my ankles. Flip flops have been a a life saver since i can't wear anything else. I have a doctor's appointment today and i was going to bring that up. I would say if your are concerned about it, definately call the doctor.

Re: Swelling - at what point would you call your OB?
I'm currently at weekly dr's appts and as long as my BP and urine are okay, he's not concerned about my swelling and believe me, it's terrible.
The last week or so, it's made it's way up to my knees which no longer have any definition.
I swore I wouldn't post these but here goes:
This was end of day feet at 34 weeks but now it's how they look all the time (this morning they are especially horrendous).

That is exactly what mine look like--looks like flip flops are your friend too. I hope this goes away soon!

Wendy- mine look just like that too (sans the 'kept up toe nails' look )... the only difference is that i wear crocs to work, so my indent line is in a different spot.
to the OP- if you're concerned, call. That should really go for anything. Some people here might call, some might not- but that doesn't matter. All that matters is that if you have a concern, you address it with your Doctor, b/c s/he is the only one that should give you any medical advice

The toes were done for my shower!
And someone at my office loaned me their crocs yesterday for the duration and I wore them this mornign to put the dog out and my foot swelled up around them in minutes, so I went for my worn out flip flops instead!
