sweet 16 favor???
since i'm the diy-queen with my friends, i was asked to come up with a favor for a sweet 16 party.
i have NO idea what's trendy with teenagers, and i haven't been to a sweet 16 or quinceanera in FOREVER.
does anyone know what favors are "IN"?

I gave out small apothacary jars with candy in them. I decorated them with ribbons and my cousin may have drawn a design on them.
The first time I read this, all I could think was "I don't remember any favors from any sweet 16s I've been to..." Now I'm recalling my favors, but can't remember anyone else's.
I wouldn't go overboard - stick with something edible!

How about setting up a candy shop.
Some of the girls at this at their Weddings.
Have Jars of Candy and let the kids make up their own candy bags to take home.
Then you would incorporate the SWEET in Sweet 16

I think something edible is the way to go. I do some cater-waitressing part time and candy seems to be the number 1 favor at Sweet 16s.

I agree.. I would do something edible. I would do personalized candy bars, or chocolate lolipops. I've been to a Sweet 16 where they gave out personalized mugs with hot chocolate in it (but the theme was Winter Wonderland).

I l ike the mug and hot chocolate idea - that's really cute. Maybe if it's in the summer you could do a "tropical themed glass" with a smoothie drink mix inside...
Or I really like these travel coffee mugs! Kids today are really into coffee (not that I promote that - but there are more teens in Starbucks these days than adults! These are $2.95 from Oriental Trading and you would obviously replace where it says "Mom" with a print out (you could even put her picture on it) that says "Jill's Sweet 16"

This is the best way to go. The plastic jars are sold at party city or any craft store. I even think dollar stores have them.
