Swaddling Question
How many weeks was your LO when you stopped swaddling? I went to DD 3 month appt and the doc told me 2 weeks they shouldn't be swaddled anymore. My eyes bugged out of my head. Her arms wake her up with the Startle reflex and he told me she has to get used to it.
I feel like she will never sleep!

Swaddling Question
I did it till my DS was 16 weeks. It's the only way he slept more than 2 hours.

Yea it definitely can be. That's when I stopped it, when he rolled to his side. I also didn't do it cold turkey, I put him in a sleep sack so at least he still felt sort of confined, even though his arms were free. Just an FYI because some babies don't transition as smoothly. GL

Swaddling Question
It can be dangerous once they start rolling, but you most likely have some time before that starts happening. And honestly, when they first start rolling, they REALLY need their arms to get over, so they won't really be able to roll in the swaddle anyway. With both our babies, we stopped swaddling when they showed signs of attempting to roll- around 4/5 months.

Yea I'm not ready!!!! And I don't think she is either. She has crazy arm reflexes and doesn't stop rubbing her face.

I swaddled my DS until he was about 3 months - that's when he started breaking out of the swaddle and rolling. Some babies just like the security!

Swaddling Question
around 13/14 weeks we stopped when she was rolling consistently.
i too thought she would never sleep not being swaddled.
she got used to it pretty quick though, it wasn't as bad as i thought it would be.

I don't remember when we stopped, but it was whenever DD was breaking out of the swaddles and rolling over. At that point, it didn't seem needed anymore.

Wow!!! I am so surprised your doctor said that! So weird how doctors have such different opinions on things!!
DS was swaddled till he was probably around 6 months. We used to joke when he went to collage we'd have to show his roommate how to do it for him. 
He actually did roll over with it on once -he'd also squirm in circles some nights. I got worried and asked my ped and she said if it helps him sleep, not to worry. He was fine, BTW, when he rolled over - though even with our doctor saying it was ok, we did stop soon after. He had started breaking out a lot and that made him wake up more then the startling did.

DD was able to fight her way out of the swaddle by 11 or 12 weeks. And we used the Miracle Blanket! The second time it happened, she woke up smiling with the blanket puddled next to her head and I FREAKED OUT. Never swaddled her again.

We tried to stop swaddling at 6 wks, but her startle reflex kept waking her up. We tried again at 3 months and it worked.

are you putting her in wide awake or sleepy? also, is there something for her to focus on (lights or mobile) and do you have white noise?

Probably like 4 mo. Up till 3.5 mo swaddled for real then when we put them in cribs at 3.5 mo they had their arms in the sleep sack swaddle. I just went cold turkey one night and they eventually slept arms out after a few weeks in the crib. Now I have to put rolled up A&A blankets under them so they cant roll because they dont really know to roll back.

I swaddled DD until she was 7 months. She wasn't rolling over and one night she was Hulk baby and decided she didn't want it anymore.
She's a phenomenal sleeper!
