Sushi Eating Moms Come On In
What have you given your DC and at what age. My ped gave me a big  when I mentioned taking DS out to a sushi restaurant. We went to Kotobuki for lunch and I gave him a piece of a california roll, chunks of tofu, some miso broth, the egg omlet thingy. What else can I try?

Kotobuki is my favorite!!!!! I would let him try any cookedroll. I think Rock and Roll #5 is really good and has cream cheese and shrimp in it.

why on earth would your ped object to that
we've only taken him once so far, and he was a new eater. he had avocado sashimi  
going back now, he'd probably have some gyoza, some noodles, tempura, katsu. I'd give him miso soup even though I hate it. seaweed salad.
maybe even eel over rice.

Alexa has been eating RAW sushi since 15 months of age. Her favorite are salmon nigiri. She eats them with LOTS of wasabi and loves teh pickles ginger 
What do you think kids in Japan eat? As long as you are getting it from a reputable place it shouldn't be a problem. We just limit the amount of Tuna she gets because of mercury.
Peds says its wonderful that she eats so well!

Ped said no fish until 2 (except flounder, etc) (although she said the same thing about citrus and DS had already been eating oranges). I made a judgment call with the california roll as its "imitation crab" (although not quite sure WHAT it is)

we give my ds shrimp, and crab - since before 9 months i was very prepared with bendryl the first few times but now don't worry
he eats the miso soup - he loves the spoon there
my ds is almost 13 months - have not tried raw fish yet - but have given all different cooked rolls that are not too spicy

Right there with you...
Caden doesnt eat a ton of it but he insists on trying it whenever we have it....
He likes California Rolls, Tekka Maki, & Philly Rolls. But he's tried pretty much whatever we've gotten...

Salmon too
But honestly we dont go as much anymore because its usually expensive for the good places and we don't bring her with us.
Frankly AJ doesn't care as long as we eat it too, she'll give it a try.

we haven't been to a sushi place with Chloe yet, but I would definitely try miso soup, california, any veggie roll, stuff like that... we live upstate, but we loooove to go to kotobuki with family when we are visiting.. i would kill for some right now!

I'm bad.
Robbie and Noah each had sweet potato rolls, California rolls and eel rolls before they were 2.
Neither of them eat any sushi except eel now.
They also eat Edamame. And gyoza. and teriyaki chicken.

Ella & Erik LOVE going to sushi.
Their typical menu consists of:
miso soup w/tofu & seaweed
bowl of sushi rice
edamame
shrimp tempura (for Ella, Erik won't eat it)
They haven't yet been interested in the raw sushi, but Ella has eaten raw oysters/clams elsewhere.
(we often go to sushi WITH our ped, and he has no problem with it )
