Surprised Re: BBB vs. BRU Registries

I registered at both BBB and BRU. I prefer BBB because they just seem to have more in stock in comparison but I registered at BRU because I know most people have no access to a BBB.

Yet I'm registry stalking tonight and virtually everything has been bought of my BBB registry and barely anything was bought off the BRU one. Now my shower is still weeks away so that could change but still.

I just thought it was interesting. Especially because alot of my guests are older and I doubt they're as comfortable with the online shopping thing. Chat Icon

I did the same thing for hte same reason however, the biggest complaint about BRU is that stuff that is bought is not coming off the registry, so there are a lot of doubles - soooo I hope thats not what is happening!

Wow I didn't even think of that. And my friend was telling me BRU's return policy kinda sux.

Re: Surprised Re: BBB vs. BRU Registries

In addition to BRU's abysmal return policy, I bet it has a lot to do with the fact that you can use bed, bath & beyond 20% coupons in BBB. I feel like BBB prices are slightly elevated vs BRU, but with the 20% it still comes out less at BBB

it's so funny when i read about how terrible BRUs return policy is - because i just had my showers, and i literally returned HUNDREDS of dollars worth of merchandise that was definitely not on my registry...they took it ALL back!!!

just wanted to stick up for BRU because i had a great expereince with them. Chat Icon

I am glad to hear that! So far I have surprisingly had a good experience with them as well. We ordered our crib and registered in the Massapequa store. They were very helpful there. I did not have my shower yet though so I cannot speak on that part of it.

Which store did you return your items to?

I think the regular Babies R Us stores are MUCH more flexible with their returns from my own experience. I returned stuff not on my registry at one adn then tried to do it at the combo store in Bay Shore and they weren't having it. When I said I jsut did this at another store, she specifically asked if it was a regular Babies R Us and said they had different policies.
