Sunless tanning vs airbrush tanning
Has anyone done either of these?
Opinions? Approximate cost? How long does it last?
Thanks!

Re: Sunless tanning vs airbrush tanning
I've done both! The sunless tanning booth I did a loooooong time ago so I don't remember the price but I remember it sucked. It was very uneven and looked ridiculous.
As for Airbursh tanning, I've done it 3 times in the past year- for a friend's wedding, for my own wedding, and then just a few weeks ago for another wedding. It's awesome! It comes out looking so natural and even and can last up to 2 weeks if you take care of it properly. I always go to Beach Bum. It's $35 for first time customers which includes the toner/water sealer, whatever they are. After that it's $45 and the toner/sealer are extra. I didn't get the toner/sealer last time and it looked exactly the same and lasted just as long as when I did get them. HTH!

Yes - I've done the airbrush. My friend does the airbrush tanning as her business and I've used her a number of times. I love the results. It's very natural looking. The tan normally lasts about 7-10 days (the higher numbers if you take care of your skin - mosturize everyday, don't exfoliate too much, etc). She charges $35 for the whole body, $25 for half. Here's her website if you want more info. Her name is Lisa

Re: Sunless tanning vs airbrush tanning
I use sunless self tanner all the time and love it, lasts pretty long. The best ones Ive found are Loreal but the one with the instant bronze so you can see where you are applying it, the clear gel can be kind of tricky. That brand is really cheap, about $8 for a bottle which lasts a while. I have also used Clarins which works well, a bit more expensive though, you can get it at sephora and maybe ulta. One tip though, it is best to use a lot to make sure you cover well and dont get streaky. Also wash your hands well and then use a cotton pad, put a bit of the product on it and then rub it from your wrist down over the top and underside of your hand.
I know that spray tan can get pricey so I like this option best but I guess it is personal preference.

Re: Sunless tanning vs airbrush tanning
Thanks girls
I have and use sunless self tanner but wanted to go to a tanning salon for the real deal before my brother's wedding in 2 weeks since I am wearing a strapless ball gown- don't want to miss any spots
I haven't been to a tanning salon in 15 years
I think I will try the airbrushing!
one more question- are you pretty much naked when they do this?

It's to your comfort level. You MUST wear some sort of undies - thong, bikini bottom, whatever your comfy in. You can go topless, but I'm not too comfy with that so I go with a strapless bikini top - again - its to your comfort level - but the top should, obvioulsy, be strapless to avoid tan lines.

Ditto. I usually go in a thong so that I have minimal tan lines. I always feel so stupid because it's a young girl (she's probably 18 or 19) but she's so sweet! She just chats away while she sprays my boobs brown.
One thing I never thought to do but I started doing, tip the airbrush girl! Anyone who sees me mostly nekkid deserves some extra cash.
