Re: Sun Bathing
You will burn easier than before you were pregnant, your skin will react more. It's also not great for you to get overheated.
Lather up the suntan lotion!

Re: Sun Bathing
Also pregnancy can cause dark patches to form on your face called melasma-I've been wearing 30 on my face an other sensitive areas(chest etc)

Re: Sun Bathing
I went to Aruba in the early part of my 1st trimester and I fried in the sun. You will burn much faster when you are pregnant, my doctor warned me. Just make sure to put on extra sun screen, especially if you have fair skin.

Re: Sun Bathing
I went to CA at around 10 weeks. I've always been pretty sensitive to the sun. I put a lot of lotion on, but still got burned while walking around. The burn on my chest later turned into an itchy splotchy rash. I'd be very careful in the sun.

Re: Sun Bathing
granted I never sun bath, I'm pretty sure its not the best thing to do while preggos. Its not healthy even when you're not preggo. You will burn worse, plus I know with the retaining water, you may swell.

Re: Sun Bathing
If you're going to be out in the sun, make sure you cover up in sunblock. We're going to Miami in 2 weeks and I've stocked up on SPF 30-50 so that I don't burn.

My doc said it is ok to be at the beach but not to sit and 'bake' yourself. it is not good for you or the baby

Re: Sun Bathing
I would bring an umbrella, sun block, water and some fruit to munch on...just stay out of the sun as much as you can under the umbrella and enjoy the view

Re: Sun Bathing
I am a sun worshipper and this year, no matter what, I can not get tan! I put on spf 4 and NOTHING. Pregnancy does crazy things to the body. Some people burn and others like me can lay out for hours and nothing. I am going to start wearing a high spf just because there is no point in laying out with no benefit!
