sun

What is the reason we aren't allowed to get sun when pregnant. Unintentionally I got sunburned today with sunblock on. Does it cause complications/miscarriage..I am worried now.Chat Icon

Re: sun

Sunburn, overheat & also the "mask of pregnancy" gets exacerbated (if you have it).

Re: sun

I never get sun burn but I went to Jamaica while I was pregnant, I was 3 months at the time, I got such a bad sunburn on my legs I could not walk. I went to the nurse's office at the hotel and since I was pregnant she couldn't give me anything for the pain. I had to sit in the tub with cool water to help take the sting out of it and I could put aloe on it too.

Re: sun

When i was Prego with dd i was at the beach all the time. I even wore a 2 piece. My dome was so dark! when i got to hot i got out of the sun, and i made sure i drank lots of water. Just like with everything, moderation is key.

The hormones in your body can change the way your skin's pigment reacts. Because of this, some pregnant women are a lot more sensitive to the sun and will burn easier. This also increases the risk for skin cancer.
