Sun & Baby's Eyes
sorry for the double question posts - but...here's number 2.
when are emma's eyes, not going to be 100% okay, but be less like that of a vampire when it comes to the sun? when she gets into the sunlight - it's seriously like a vampire reaction - she shields herself dramatically!

Re: Sun & Baby's Eyes
OMG... Mason does the same exact thing. If his eyes go in the sun for a moment he makes this face and I quickly cover his eyes. Even when we're running from the car into a store I have to put my hands over his eyes b/c I'll know the look is coming.
We have the sun shade by his window in the car, but once in a while the sun creeps in and gets him... I have to try and move so it goes away from his eyes.

Re: Sun & Baby's Eyes
I've actually read that if you have light eyes sun can damage your vision. I am always shielding them from the sun wither with the canopy on their stroller, a hat or sunglasses

we never put her in the sun directly obviously, i mean ya know - when the sunlight trickles into the car...or when we turn the carseat the wrong way when putting her into the stroller, etc...

While I always shield my babies from the sun, I myself have light eyes, and sun protection wasn't considered so important then like it is now, and I have perfect vision. I am sure I spent many a day squinting into the sun as a baby/child.

me too... I have light eyes and was never shielded. I have 20/20. Although I have to wear sunglasses... my eyes are sensitive. DS has brown eyes like DH. DH actually hates wearing sunglasses. I hate driving without them

I don't know when they'll be less sensitive, but Tristan's the same way - vampire description and all! I think some babies are just more sensitive to the sun than others. T puts up such a fuss that I think it will probably always bother him.

thats interesting I have really light eyes and have felt that my eyes were much more sensitive to light than DH's which are brown..DD's eyes are very light as well and she hates the sun in her eyes as well, I try to sheild her as much as possible from it...

Re: Sun & Baby's Eyes
DD is 11 mths and seems LESS effected by light now as when she was younger, if that helps.
