Well Summerlyn is one specific person...
are you asking about newborn pictures in general or about her? I think she has a website with pricing information and details about how the photoshoot would work.
In terms of just general newborn pictures, we are having them done. The woman will be coming to our house... we just booked this week and you and I are due right around the same time.
I won't get into the pricing because we are doing a whole package with a photo album and digital prints so it's kind of pricy... but the actual session fee is not very much at all.

The sitting fee is $175, and then the cd with full printing rights is $200.00
which i think is pretty fair.
i live in PA so i cant use Summerlyn or the other vendors on here unless they came to my parents orMIL house in brooklyn. but i dont want to bring the newborn out that early.
i found them on craigslist..
it shows on their site they are in the NYmetro area too.

Yea when I contacted her she said she was booking for May of 2010...although I thought someone mentioned in another thread that she was leaving some space open for newborn pics, but I'm not sure.
Her pricing is on her website I believe and she takes awesome pics. I believe she will come to you or you can go to her.
I plan on doing newborn pics when DC#2 and I'm prob going to go with Forever Fireflies. Heather took pics of my daughter recently and they came out great so I'm prob going to book her for newborn pics.

we did a maternity shoot w/ summerlyn and will do newborn pics w/ her and a 8 month-ish shoot too. she does leave some room in her schedule for NB shots, but i'm not sure how far in advance you'd have to let her know. when we took our maternity pics, she told us she was booking may and june of 2010.

this is unreal. i got my BFP on 8/26 and MAY was already booked? People dont even know they are pregnant and she is booked for the month they will give birth   
oh well, there are many many many wonderful photographers out there!

b/c she takes pics OTHER than newborn. I think what everyone means is that she is booked in general until June, but there is a possiblity that she could fit you in for a newborn shoot.
and no, I don't think we'll be doing professional nb shots with anyone. dh is having his super awesome non digital nikon slr cleaned and fixed up (his dad bought it in 1979...it is supposedly one of the best slr's ever or something) and we will probably get a new lense for it.
dh takes pretty nice pictures, so I think we will just leave it at that.
although I will say that Summer, Lori, Sandra, and heather all take lovely lovely photos. If one is booked, I am sure another with space will showcase your little darling just as beautifully.

understood but people who have booked recently with her are saying she is booking JUNE 2010 for newborn shoots! june moms arent even preggo yet?

that you can blame on the TTC board 
It wouldn't surprise me to see girls with dates booked EVERY month going six months in for whenever they could possibly deliver the baby they are trying to get.

She leaves about 10 slots open for newborns a month because she does other things like family, maternity, 8 month photos, first birthday photos/cake smashes.

I am using AvaJack Photography (Lori) for newborn shots. I just posted some pics that she took for us of our son - and some maternity that came out amazing.
I also LOVE September Blue's work. She is unbelieveble.
You cannot go wrong with either of the above!
