Re: Summer home
No, but I grew up and my family still lives in the Hudson Valley area. NY/NJ/PA border to be specific.
It is really nice here and so much to do that is a quick drive away.
My sister and her boyfriend have an old farm house in Milford, PA and I love it there.
There are also a ton of homes for sale, new, old, big and small.
Plus, it is a convenient drive to Long Island. About 2.5 hours with no traffic.

Re: Summer home
I don't but my mom and her brother share one that they inherited from their father, it was his summer home. Dh and I use it once a year it's in Cape May Courthouse, NJ. It's about 20 mins north of Cape May, 15 mins north of Wildwood, 10 mins west of Stone harbor and a half hour south of Atlantic City. I love the location because when we go there we aren't just stuck in one of those towns, it's in the middle of SO much so there is always lots to do. The development is on the bay so we have the option of bringing our boat down if we want. We never have but our boat was actually my parents boat and when my dad died I inherited it. He used to bring it down with us when we went there on vacation as kids.

Re: Summer home
We spent a week in Niantic, CT last summer and I would LOVE to have a house there. Small, nice beaches, 20-25 minutes to the casinos, 20 minutes to Mystic, and an hour from Newport.

Re: Summer home
I grew up in Jackson Heights so my family's summer house in Rocky Point was a true country house to me. It was a 5 min walk to the beach and back then there were tons more lots of woods that now have houses on them but still... a summer house near any water would be amazing!

Re: Summer home
Buy one on Copake Lake. Theyre pretty cheap, depending if you lake rights or not, Its like 2.5 to 3 hours north. Incredible.
I have so many pics if you want any more.

Re: Summer home
We have one in the Poconos. It's a gated community with a lake beach, pool and clubhouse. it's only a 2.5 hour drive too. However, we really, really love Cape Cod and consider buying something there once we settle in our next home here.
