Suggestions please for great gifts for 1 year olds
Our family was lucky to have a baby boom last year so now we have a bunch of first birthdays (both boys & girls) coming up between now and the end of the year. Since I'm quite a few years removed from it now, I was wondering what your 1-ish year olds loved. Things that are different would be nice, I'm sure other people will pick up the usual stuff from TRU/BRU.

FP Little People Farm. Pretty much anything Little People. A personalized "My Name Is" book from frecklebox.com. A bubble machine. Water table. Splash pool. Ride on toy. Little Chuck cars. Play food. Play tent. Play tunnel. Parachute.

Someone gave this to us, without a card, and I couldn't believe how much DS is in love with it.
V-Tech Count with me Bus
Something I wish someone would have given us, was a Magna Doodle. DS became really interested in grabbing the pen from us when we were writing and wanted to write himself around 13m.

Fisher Price Laugh & Learn Learning Home Playset was DS's favorite and he played with it for such a long time, we got so much use out of it!

I agree with this also. DD played with hers up until recently and she's 4. They also make a learning farm. I wold also suggest a shopping cart, stroller or one of those leapfrog learning tables.

My DD loves anything she can push and walk with.
Walking toys, doll carriages, lawn mowers etc.
She also loves blocks and mega blocks!

DS got 4 sit and stands for his 1st birthday and he already had 1 so I would say stay away from them! Some other things he got that he loves is his lawn mower, Vtech Alphabet train, smart trike, and I kept one of the sit and stands that had a piano on it because he loves playing with the piano part! Good luck

I've gotten all of my friend's kids savings bonds for their first birthdays. I figure they don't really remember toys much now anyways, and DH and I both really appreciated the bonds we had when it was time to buy our first cars!
