Suffolk County Homeowner's please check your mailbox starting on the 24th.
This is an e-mail from Trunzo's office.
I want to remind you that important details about how to apply for your property tax rebate will be coming your way next week.
The New York State Department of Taxation and Finance will be mailing information packets that explain how to sign up for this important tax relief program that I fought for again this year. Mailings to Suffolk County homeowners are scheduled to begin Monday, September 24th. Watch your mailbox!
IF YOU ARE CURRENTLY A BASIC *STAR* ENROLLEE, YOU MUST FILE AN APPLICATION TO RECEIVE YOUR 2007 REBATE!
Included in the packet you will receive from the Tax Department is important information that you will need to complete your application, including a unique "STAR code" that identifies your specific property, as well as instructions for filing your application on-line or through the mail.
THE DEADLINE FOR APPLYING IS NOVEMBER 30, 2007.
Remember, your rebate check is in addition to the property tax relief I fought for through the STAR program. The STAR exemption is shown on your school tax bill.
For additional information regarding your 2007 property tax rebates, including your rebate check amount, general program information, frequently asked questions and how to apply on-line, click here.

I saw this on my towns website as well. I wonder if this applies to us as we just bought the house in June?

The letter in the mailing mentions that you have to have lived in the property as of 3/1.
ETA: That means I'm not eligible either
