I'm not really sure why this house is so affordable. In looking at the pics it appears as though the owner may have already moved out and perhaps he/she just really wants to sell it asap. It is somewhat near a main road, just off Route 109 but it still seems to be quite a deal. Thinking about taking a look but ideally we wanted to wait a little bit longer before moving out of our apt. Any guesses as to why it is so affordable ? How is the West Babylon school district ?

This is a great deal for Babylon Village, even with W.B. schools, which are pretty good. I know quite a few people who have kids in the W.B. district and they are happy with it. The taxes are very reasonable too. My sister paid $15K just a few blocks south of there.

needs major updating, but the taxes are good and so is the price.

Re: Suffolk County
I will say that the taxes seem awfully low for Babylon - DH's grandmother lives there and her taxes are over 5K, and that's with her senior citizen discount. Other than that, it seems like a great deal.

Re: Suffolk County
Went last night to take a look..and though the outside is nice and the backyard is a very nice size..the inside was a little too old for our taste. The MLSLI posting doesn't indicate the year the house was built..and the realtor didn' that information either. I wasn't able to get to the house until around 7pm when it was dark and the only light working in the house was in the kitchen... the owner has already moved out. We had to find a lamp and plug it in the wall for each room we went in. Realtor mentioned that it was listed on 10/11 and just recently dropped from 369k..since the drop they've been getting some interest from buyers...just be sure if you visit you either bring a flashlight or go during the day
