sudden crankiness?

so DD is cutting her second tooth 2 weeks after her 1st and during this time all of a sudden she gets hysterical whenever we need to change her, or when we try to sit her in her highchair etc., she also gets hysterical when i lay her down to sleep/nap... she never did this to this extreme before? is this normal? is she trying to assert herself at 8 months? is that possible or is she just extra irritable, not wanting to be put down due to the teething? please advise. thanks

seriously, she arches her back while changing and pushes off i'm afraid she's going to launch herself off the changing table
