Such a nice boss I have....

I was just on the phone with her, she gave me a new child to work with and told me when I meet his mom, to hide my pregnancy and not let her know I am pregnant. Makes ya feel soooo good!!

I told her I was sorry, but it was getting a tad bit obvious!!

I am a special ed teacher and parents do not want an interuption in their childs program, so they don't want someone to start with their kid that will eventually leave. I can understand it, but it stings a bit.

ew, what's that about? Why would you 'need' to hide it?

Re: Such a nice boss I have....

While I understand where your boss is coming from, at this point that is completely insensitive. She needs to step up to the plate as the boss and if the parent has something to say about, deal with it.

I am a special ed teacher also in children's homes and I have been putting off telling work for this exact reason. I am worried how my boss is going to react and how the parents of the children I work with are going to react. I am also worried that they are going to start cutting my hours now, even though I am not due until March.

Re: Such a nice boss I have....

this is a bummer. . while I get it, they should still want the best instruction they can have while they can get it. . and having a great teacher for a while is still the best for the child unless they have severe severe emotional needs!

But no matter what that was inappropriate of your boss for sure!

Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon I have honestly never had a problem with a parent. My first pregnancy, they were all happy for me, bought me gifts too. My boss is just paranoid. When it comes down to it, they are all moms too and went through pregnancy too, so don't worry too much.
