stupid question about transitioning from Formula to Milk...

So DS is almost 11 months old and we are starting to transition him from Formula to milk...

I was told to switch out 1 ounce a day so it would take about a week before he is completely onto milk...

My question is...do I no longer heat his bottle? I used to heat the water, then add the powder. he is currently taking 6 ounce bottles, so do I just add cold milk so that by the end of the week he only drinks cold beverages.... do I heat the milk so that it is the same temp as the formula?

Thanks for your help ladies! :)

I stopped warming it when I started adding milk, but you don't have to.
You can make the bottle with room temp water, cold milk and then warm it in a cup of hot water if you want, no?

funny you say this bc my youngest DS is use to room temp water with his formula. Now that I am up to 3oz of formula & 3oz of cold milk, he won't drink his bottle until it is room temperature. He does not like the bottle to be cold but since I never warmed his bottles, I am not warming his milk.

If he will drink it cold go with that. We heat the milk for both of my ds' and it is annoying because when you transition away the bottle it is harder to warm the milk.

I warmed the milk a tiny bit. Just to make it room temp and not freezing.

Now I give it to her cold, but sometimes she won't drink it, so I warm in for a few secs in the microwave.

I would say try it cold. It will a much easier transition. Otherwise you will always have to heat the milk and then transition from that. I would start with what you normally do with formula and each ounce I would make a little colder until he's on full milk out of the fridge.
