stupid question about pack n play ...
can a 3 month old weighing about 15 pounds sleep in this:
My mom read some complaint online about big baby not fitting in the bassinet and is arguing that my soon to be 15 lb son wont fit.
Isn't there a mattress like thing that is under all the bassinet stuff?

Re: stupid question about pack n play ...
The bassinet part prob has a weight limit of 15 lbs - then you remove that part, take the "mattress" off of it, and place the mattress on the lower level and your DC can sleep there.

Yup--we lowered it all the way to the bottom before 3 months when DS reached the weight limit for the bassinet part.

This is the same one I have. I cant use the changing table part bc it kind of tips over when DS is in it (he's about 13 lbs). He's still sleeping in the bassinet part though. IMO I would get a model without the changing table if I were you and save some $$.

I have the Chicco Lullaby with the changing table and it is much more stable.

just take the matress and put it on the bottom of the PnP now and he can sleep there.

Re: stupid question about pack n play ...
Just before DS was 15lbs I moved him out of the bassinet part and into his crib. It just didn't seem to have good support. I have a similar Graco model.

You can lower the bassinet part down so it's at the bottom. I put DS in there as a portable crib all the time and he's 7.5months old and 20 lbs.

Re: stupid question about pack n play ...
I have the new carter's pack n play with the changer and it's very stable - the changer can be moved and hung off the side but we generally leave it on and we use it all day long. The bassinet part kinda jiggles, but it's only good up til 15 lbs anyway.
