Stupid Question - HPT

I know the answer to this question but just wondering if anyone else had the same experience. I took a HPT last week because for some reason I thought I was PG and had all the signs. Right away I saw a negative line and within a minute of looking at it, I got so upset that I just left the test sitting in the bathroom and went to bed (it was like after midnight anyway).

Well when I woke up in the am I saw another line but very very light. It was not an evaporation line because it was blue. I then took a dollar tree test a day later and it was negative. Is there any chance that one test can be right and another wrong? Or maybe it's just too early or maybe I am just hoping for something that is not there? :(

I think it can still be an evap line even if it's colored.
