Strollers - I'm so confused!

We are going to register tonight - I'm almost 26 weeks and I've been putting it off. I guess it's time that I get on it!

I am getting the snugride and the snugride snap and go for infancy, but I am so confused about a stroller!

I want to get something light and durable - but my DH thinks it's ridiculous to spend tons of $$$.

I like the look of the metrolite, but I hear mixed reviews about its weight and durability.

What stroller are you getting and why? What should I register for?

We registered for the metrolite....after going to BRU and wheeling them all around for a while, we both found this was the easiest to manuever. Also, I wanted something lightweight and easy to fold...to me, it was perfect. We went with the Emerson pattern--

ETA--I see that you said you were getting the snugride...they make the metrolite as part of a travel system that comes with the snugride infant seat in the delancy pattern--which is purple and black I believe. It is on BRU's website.

The best way to do this is HOW you think you will be using the stroller.

Mostly for the mall, walks on smooth concrete, how much space in your trunk/house.

Metrolite-Is a great stroller-and the snugride does attach to it, so that's another option for you. It does well on all surfaces, is on the lighter side. COmfy to push, lots of storage and lays completely flat for newborn

Pliko-I LOVE MINE! But it doesn't do well on rough surfaces or grass. It doesn't lay completely flat so a newborn couldn't go in it. My DD couldn't sit comfy in it until about 6-7 months.

Zippy-That's more of an umbrella stroller right? I have no experience with that one. sorryChat Icon

I LOVE my metrolite! It's so light! and easy to fold (although it's not exactly compact!) It's a good size that I never had trouble going through aisles at stores, etc. When I would go with my friend, she had a lot of trouble with the Eddie Bauer.

My under basket did break though, but that was because of baggage handlers.

Thanks for the info - I didn't realize that the pliko was hard to manuever on some surfaces! That's good to know - for that amount of $$ you'd think that it would ride smoothly....

Do any of you ladies find the metrolite to be heavy? That is the major concern I have about it....

Re: Strollers - I'm so confused!

My suggestion:

- do a "test" drive at the store.
- try the maneuvering in the store.
- use all the feature and see how easy it is (folding, putting seat up and down, brakes, etc..)
- how heavy is it? I could not do more than 20 Lbs
- does it folds easy?

Etc....

MEtrolite not at all! I have graco quattro tour and I wish I got the metrolite, but i was different when I registered last year. My SIL just got one for my niece, I LOVE IT, I want to get one now, I wish they made them in a double stroller!

The PLiko can hold it's own on rough surfaces/grass, but in NO WAY Like my GRACO. The graco glides over grass with the front wheels locked straight, my pliko gives DD whiplash sometimes, it's like off roadingChat Icon

I do love it alot though! I love all three of my strollers!

Just remember you will be using this stroller for a good 3 years-Tell DH to look at it like an investment in his child's comfyness!
