Strep without fever?

Has anyone had a child with strep throat and no fever?

My four year old has been complaining of a sore throat for the past few days. No runny nose, cough or fever.

He is playing, eating and sleeping normally, but has had diarrhea the past few days. No nausea or vomiting.

Should I bring him to get checked out?

I would bring him in and check for strep.

I get strep with no fever. My kids actually never get fevers but get sick.

My daughter gets strep with no fever. Sometimes she even gets it without a sore throat (a headache or a stomach ache were her symptoms). I would go to the doctor

I feel like my kids often have non-typical symptoms. Never once did they show or complain of ear pain when they've had ear infections, etc. If he's complaining and you think something's off it can't hurt to bring him.

My older child gets strep with no fever, no sore throat, just stomach aches for a week. She gets a sore throat but no fever, and once croup but no sore throat. She has only had typical strep symptoms a few times. I take mine when I know it is going around her class. Sore throat can be many things...allergies, cold, other virus etc. but if you know they have been exposed it couldn't hurt to get it checked out if it is lingering.

Yep this used to happen to me allll the time. The school nurse used to not believe me or send me home because I didn't have a fever. I had a lot of strep.

Yes. My 2 year old had strep for the first time recently and no fever. A few days later he developed a rash, which then led to a diagnosis of mono. When I was younger, I used to get strep without running a fever.

Yes my son had strep and had zero symptoms

Went in for a well visit. Ped said his throat was red
Did the strep test,positive
