Help pls! Strep/fever
How many days of fever is normal? Ds has been on antibiotics since Tuesday and has been sick with fever since last Sunday/Monday of last week. He is miserable coughing at night, so snotty, itchy eyes and nose and the poor thing just popped 2 new teeth. He turned 2 on the 1st.

Does he still have a fever or just congestion and feeling not great. If it is just congestion that can last a while - depending on how bad it was - I know once you get a cough it can sometimes take a week or two to get rid of even when you feel good. If he still has a fever and has been on antibiotics since Tuesday I would call the ped - it could be that he has a virus on top of the strep or could have an infection the antibiotics didn't clear or might need different meds.

I would definitely talk to the ped if your child has had a fever and has been on antibiotics since Tuesday - usually you see improvement in 24-48 hours. There might be a secondary virus or infection going on that the antibiotics aren't covering??? Either way I would at least call and touch base if nothing more.

I agree! If the fever isn't gone withint 48 hours of antibiotics he may need something stronger or there is something else going on.
I do remember once TJ still had a fever 3, maybe 4 days after antibiotics for a raging ear infection and they gave him something stronger.
