Strep B test today- have a question
I have the strep B test today. FUN! Will they also check to see if I'm dillated/ effaced? I'm 36 weeks?

not for me. My internals didn't start til 37 weeks.
My dr only did the strep test, it's really not bad at all, it's just a qtip swab of the outside of your rectum and vagina.

I had it done at 35 weeks, they also did an internal. I have not had another internal since though.

Oh no- the hiny! I'm such a baby about these things. I get so freaked out when I have to show the Dr's my stuff. I have to get over it, I know, but it's like my only phobia.

You wont' even know!! believe me, he doesn't even go in, it's just the outside

It's really nothing. I had my strep b at my 36 week appointment and I didn't have an internal until 37 weeks either.

They swab your whole genital area, since your rectum is so close to where to baby comes out, it's possible to spread the strep b to the baby from there too.
