stopping nursing
I am in the midst of stopping nursing. I started with nursing less and less and was able to go 48 hours without getting engorged. This morning my right boob (which always produced more) was killing so I let DS nurse a little just to alleviate the pain. The left boob is a little sore, but manageable. I know that I should just stop and deal with the engorgement, but I teach dance for 2 more weeks and ginormous swollen boobs is just not going to work for me. Do you think it's terrible if I let him nurse just a bit when I'm in pain, or should I just stop and deal with it? Any good tips on drying up my supply?

Re: stopping nursing
I just went through this- I found that even if I nursed or pumped for just a minute to take the edge off- the engorgement got worse! So I just suffered for about 2-3 days- wore a tight bra, tried not to let the hot water hit my breasts in the shower, etc.
I also heard taking Sudafed (the original) helps to diminish milk supply so I popped those 2x a day (I have sinus allergies anyway )

Re: stopping nursing
I'm no expert but I think stopping totally would be the better way to go overall if you have to relieve some pressure try hand expressing or pumping that way you're not re-stimulating the supply as much as actual nursing would??? Chilled cabbage leaves in your bra will REALLY help, I used them for 2 days and switched them frequently and noticed less engorgement almost overnight!!!
